Employability skills help young people in Life Skills, Transition and Vocational Major classes to find, keep and succeed at work. The employability skills passport gives an easy to use, low prep structure to your next employability skills unit. It helps you plan and teach the skills during the unit, and the best bit is that it encourages your high school students to take charge of their own learning! The passports can all be printed double sided so students use a booklet structure to record their own ideas and keep track of their skills using the passport checklist.
How to use employability skills passports
The passports can be used as a face to face classroom resource, or uploaded and used with a single class or group using a remote teaching approach. Incorporate online or face to face discussions about each employability skills area, and encourage students to think carefully about how they can build each skill area and provide evidence and information to an employer during a job interview.
The employability skills passports are great as an ongoing, student led record keeping tool to support individualised learning and responsibility. Each student can take charge of their own employability skills passports, then use the information to help them develop their resumes and respond to job advertisements.
What are employability skills?

The resource has been designed to create a double sided printed page which is folded in half for each passport area, or can be used for remote use with digital overlays, online chats and discussions. It is useful as an independent work packet for students and teachers who may need to move from face to face teaching to remote learning with little notice, or who need a packet of learning materials which can transition between school and home settings.
