Use the picture and clue cards to help students learn about common community signs they will see during visits to the community.
 
What's inside?
32 coloured community and safety signs picture cards with corresponding ‘What am I?’ clue cards. There are 2 complete sets – one with numbers and one without. You can use the numbered sets for student self marking or for error free practice. An answer grid is included for easy teacher / trainer marking.
 
What to do?
1.Print and cut out the community and safety signs cards without the numbering.
2.Spread the picture and clue cards on a table-top or desk.
3.Ask students to match the pictures to their correct ‘What am I? ’clues.
4.Use the numbered cards or the answer grid to check the answers.
 
Variations
Use the variations to support diverse learning needs:
1.Give students pairs of numbered cards for error free matching activities.
2.Work in small teams and compete to see who can match all the cards the fastest.
3.Use the picture cards only and ask students to find an example in their community.
4.Go on a scavenger hunt to look for signs in the community.
5.Use one community and safety sign picture card and clue each session as a discussion prompt or ice breaker.
